RideX Captain Terms & Conditions

These Terms apply to all RideX Captains (drivers), including Tripzi Captains. By accepting a trip, you agree to comply with these terms and NSW Point to Point legislation.

1. Eligibility & Licensing

Hold a valid NSW driver licence.

Hold and maintain a valid Driver Authority as required by NSW Point to Point legislation.

Meet all RideX onboarding requirements.

2. Professionalism

Wear RideX uniform or neat, professional attire.

Be punctual, polite, and avoid sensitive topics unless initiated by the passenger.

3. Safety Compliance

Maintain BAC 0.000 while driving.

Comply with NSW Road Rules and Point to Point safety requirements.

Refuse any unsafe or illegal trip requests.

4. Tripzi Vehicle Handling

Document the customer’s vehicle condition before and after the trip with photos.

Drive the vehicle lawfully and with care.

Follow the agreed route unless safety or traffic conditions require a change.

5. Privacy & Conduct

Do not access personal items in the customer’s vehicle.

Do not record passengers without consent.

Do not exchange personal contact details for bookings outside RideX.

6. Payments

All fares are processed through the RideX platform.

Captains must not solicit or accept off-platform payments for RideX trips.

7. Incident Reporting

Report any accident, safety concern, or passenger misconduct to RideX Support immediately.

8. Violations

Breach of these terms may result in suspension, fines, or permanent removal from RideX.

9. Liability

RideX provides the platform “as is” and does not guarantee trip availability.

Captains are responsible for their compliance with all laws and vehicle safety standards.


RideX Rider Terms & Conditions

RideX (“we”, “our”, “us”) connects riders with independent drivers (“Captains”) through our technology platform. By booking a ride with RideX, you agree to the following:

1. Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to hold a RideX account.

For Tripzi – Ride Me Home:

You must be the registered owner or authorised user of the vehicle.

Vehicle must be roadworthy, registered, insured, and have sufficient fuel.

You must be fit to give instructions and access your vehicle. Excessive intoxication that risks safety may lead to cancellation and full fare being charged.

2. Respect & Behaviour

Treat your Captain with courtesy and professionalism.

No abusive, aggressive, or disrespectful behaviour (verbal or physical). Breaches may result in permanent account suspension.

3. Safety Rules

Seatbelts must be worn at all times.

No illegal substances, dangerous goods, or weapons allowed in the vehicle.

Captains may refuse unsafe or illegal trip requests.

4. Tripzi Vehicle Condition

You are responsible for ensuring your car is roadworthy and safe.

Captains will document vehicle condition before and after the trip.

Any fines, tolls, or penalties incurred remain your responsibility unless caused by driver negligence.

5. Privacy

Do not record Captains without consent.

Keep conversations respectful. No harassment or solicitation.

6. Payment & Cancellations

All payments are processed via the RideX app.

Cancelling after a Captain is en route may incur the full fare.

No-shows (10+ minutes after arrival) may be charged in full.

Toll charges apply in addition to the fare.

7. Feedback

Provide honest ratings and reviews. Misuse of the rating system may lead to account suspension.

8. Liability

RideX acts as a booking platform, not a transport provider.

To the extent permitted by law, RideX’s liability is limited to $2,000 for any claim.


RideX – Customer Code of Conduct (Ride Me Home)

1. Respectful Behavior

Treat drivers with courtesy and professionalism.

Abusive, aggressive, or disrespectful behavior (verbal or physical) is not tolerated and may lead to a permanent ban.

2. Fitness to Travel

Customers must be fit to provide ride instructions and access their vehicle.

Excessive intoxication that risks safety may lead to cancellation and full charge.

3. Vehicle Condition

Your vehicle must be roadworthy, registered, and fueled. Drivers may refuse unsafe vehicles.

Customers are responsible for all vehicle-related fines or malfunctions during the trip.

4. Safety Compliance

Seatbelt use is mandatory.

No illegal substances or dangerous goods allowed in the vehicle.

5. Privacy and Conduct

No recording drivers without consent.

Keep conversations respectful. No solicitation or harassment.

6. Payment & Cancellation

Late cancellations (once a driver is en route) may incur full fare.

No-show after 10 minutes of arrival may result in full charge.

RideX Privacy Policy

RideX Pty Ltd (“RideX”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of our drivers (“Captains”), riders, and all users of our platform. We comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles, and applicable transport regulations including the NSW Point to Point Transport (Taxis and Hire Vehicles) Act 2016.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, store, use, and disclose your personal information. By using RideX services, you consent to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

a. For Captains (Drivers/Providers)

  • Full name, address, date of birth, and contact details
  • Profile photo
  • Government-issued ID (Driver’s Licence, Passport, etc.)
  • NSW driver licence details and driving record verification
  • Vehicle registration papers, CTP insurance, and roadworthiness
  • Vehicle photos
  • Driver accreditation documents (where applicable)
  • ABN (if applicable) for payment purposes
  • Banking details for payout processing
  • Background check results (must be current within 90 days)
  • Trip performance data, location tracking, and passenger feedback

b. For Riders

  • Full name, contact details, and date of birth
  • Payment details (processed securely by payment providers; card numbers are not stored by RideX)
  • Trip booking history, pickup/drop-off locations, and ratings
  • Optional accessibility or preference notes to improve service experience

c. Location & Usage Data

  • Real-time GPS tracking when you are “online” in the app
  • Trip history, pickup/drop-off coordinates
  • App usage logs, crash reports, and device information

d. Other Sources

  • NSW Government driver licence verification services
  • Passenger and driver feedback
  • Third-party providers (payment gateways, identity verification)
  • Publicly available sources when legally permitted

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Verify your identity and meet legal, regulatory, and safety requirements
  • Match riders with drivers and manage trip bookings
  • Process payments and driver payouts
  • Display location for real-time ride matching and tracking
  • Support features like Drive Me Home, Bid Ride, and Child Seat compatibility
  • Monitor safety, performance, and customer service quality
  • Provide support and resolve disputes or complaints
  • Comply with NSW Point to Point Transport laws and other regulations
  • Improve RideX features and user experience

3. Sharing of Information

Your data may be shared with:

  • Customers (limited to name, photo, vehicle info, and rating)
  • Payment processors, IT providers, analytics services
  • Background check and identity verification providers
  • Marketing service providers (only with your consent)
  • Government authorities (e.g., NSW Point to Point Transport Commissioner, NSW Police) if legally required
  • Insurers and legal advisers in the event of a claim or dispute

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

4. GPS & Location Sharing

  • Shared only when you are “online” in the app
  • Used to assign trips, estimate arrival times, and ensure customer safety
  • Logged for auditing, compliance, and dispute resolution

5. Data Retention

  • As long as you have an active RideX account
  • For legal, regulatory, and audit purposes after account deactivation
  • Trip and bid history may be retained longer if required by law

6. Data Security

  • Encrypted document storage
  • Secure servers with restricted access
  • Two-factor authentication and regular monitoring for suspicious activity
  • Data stored securely in Australia, with some technical services hosted overseas under strict safeguards

7. Overseas Data Transfers

Some trusted service providers may store or process your information overseas (e.g., in the USA, Singapore, or the UK). We take reasonable steps to ensure such transfers comply with Australian privacy laws.

8. Your Rights

  • Access or update your personal information via your app profile
  • Request corrections if information is inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Opt out of marketing or promotional communications
  • Make a privacy complaint, which we will respond to within 30 days

If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

9. Cookies & Analytics

  • Device and usage data
  • Location data (to match you with trips)
  • Analytics via tools like Google Analytics to improve performance
  • Cookies to enhance app and website functionality (you can disable cookies, though some features may be affected)

10. Data Breach Notification

If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will:

  • Notify affected individuals promptly
  • Provide advice on protective steps you can take
  • Report the breach to the OAIC under the Notifiable Data Breaches Scheme

11. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via the app or email.
